Emile Shamie

Born in Montreal, Emile Shamie began drawing and painting at a very early age. He continued his art studies even while establishing himself successfully in business, in the world of Fashion. For many years, Emile attended art classes and studied privately with some of Montreal’s finest artist and instructors including Yehouda Chaki.

Emile’s art is influenced by his love of eastern philosophies, Zen practices, the study of Tai-Chi, Aikido and the vitalization process of Qigong, a healing technique that involves meditation, controlled breathing and movement exercises. He also has an innate love for music and dance and has been able to play piano by ear his whole life.

For the last 15 years, Emile, has been focused at creating a vast array of art. His love is working with oils, acrylics, watercolors, and India ink pen & brush to express landscapes, florals, abstracts and figurative creations. Emile’s prolific work as an artist is distinguished by his strong sense of color and form. His practised eye and search for meaning have found an impressive outlet in his love of life, nature and the human body.

He uses his imagination and his wealth of life experiences to create unique and inspiring pieces. Emile’s finely tuned sense of balance and control impart an accessibility that establishes an immediate rapport with the viewer. One can feel the complete sense of freedom and spiritual connection in Emile’s work. He brings his canvases to life with unforgettable combinations of color and texture. His work continues to evolve every day as he challenges himself to express his creative spirit and deep appreciation for life.
